If you haven’t tried homemade granola, let’s just say I would HIGHLY recommend it. Honey Nut Cheerios don’t have any thing on this crunchy, sweet goodness. π
It’s made of seven simple ingredients you may already have on hand, is lower in sugar and less expensive than store bought granola. What’s not to love?
I always keep a batch of homemade granola on hand for topping oats, smoothies or to have as a snack. The variations are endless!
Ingredients
- 2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup nuts, roughly chopped (I used raw almonds and cashews)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup honey
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a large bowl, combine oats, nuts, coconut flakes, cinnamon and salt.
- In a saucepan over low heat or in the microwave, warm coconut oil and honey.
- Pour oil mixture over oat mixture and stir to combine.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread granola out in an even layer.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes (check it until until lightly golden). Do not stir.
- Let cool completely on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container up to 1 month. Enjoy!
