If you’ve never made a homemade chocolate treat, let’s just say I would highly suggest it. If you love Snickers bars, I would highly suggest making these 🙂
Unlike Snickers, these bars are made of real food ingredients. The base is Medjool dates, peanut butter and roasted peanuts. I also added 1 tablespoon of coconut flour to help bind everything together. Dip in melted chocolate, sprinkle with flaky sea salt, and you are in for a treat!
For the dates, I buy huge containers of Medjool dates at Costco and love snacking on them with nut butter. Pro tip: dates with pits are WAY softer than pre-pittted.
Personally, these bars are my ideal after dinner treat. I hope you love them! Let me know if you give them a try!
In a food processor, combine dates and 1 TB hot water till smooth.
Add peanut butter and coconut flour. Blend again till combined.
Add peanuts. Blend until peanuts are combined and broken down a bit.
Line a plate with parchment paper. Using your fingers, form dough into 10 candy shaped logs and place on plate. (If you have a kitchen scale, the bars are about 25 grams each.)
Freeze for 30 minutes to harden.
Melt chocolate chips in a saucepan or the microwave. Dip each log in chocolate, place back on parchment covered plate.
If desired, sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
Freeze for 30 minutes to harden.
Store in the fridge or freezer. Enjoy!
